Memorial Day Camping

We decided to take a trip up to the Uinta Mountains for Memorial day weekend for Christina's birthday and also to get one more vacation in before Christina's ready to pop. We wanted as much of the family as possible but Cory got a new job and couldn't make it.

On the way up at dusk we hit a poor deer with the trailer. Luckily Christina yelled "DEER" when I didn't see it and swerved to the center of the road narrowly missing it with the car. No damage occured to the trailer but the deer did die. We got to the campsite late and had no moon to help light the night and it took a long time to get the trailer off the hitch.

We cleaned up the old trailer (My mother won it on Wheel of Fortune in 1985) and we were ecstatic to be staying in it.

The pregnant lady had a relaxing weekend and spent a lot of time napping.

Jake and family came up on Friday morning and spent the night as well.

The burners on the trailer didn't burn well so we cooked on the fire which was really fun.

Becky certaintly had fun. At one point in the trailer Becky said, "Taylor your giving me a headache". when asked why she said, "Taylor your talking too much".

It was a very nice area that only gets greener as summer comes.

There was still snow in patches but we came down this ravine that was full.

It rained off an on and luckily it stopped in the evening to sit by the fire and didn't rain much in the mornings except the last morning. On the last day it cleared up for several hours for us to go shooting.

We determined that the best thrower was Taylor. Justin and Brady shot the same off me. We couldn't judge Taylor obviously since he couldn't throw for himself.

Even Christina took a round or two with the shotgun but that quickly ended with the big belly and all.

We did a little whompping after which might have hurt the car (we're still not sure).

To celbrate we made a huge fire and danced around it. Actually we just sat there. and then cooked dinner.
The vacation was fantastic except we had some problems at the end. The car the night before we left made some hideous noises. So we dicided that we would push the car down the hill to the ranger station in the morning and get help. (no cell phone reception up there) After about 100 yards of pushing we decided to start the car and get to the top of the hill. We said a prayer started the engine and everything was fine. We left the trailer behind and slowly drove to Provo. Travis, Brady, and I went back up with the suburban to get the trailer. We thankful we got home so easily and are still waiting on word from the mechanic on what is wrong.

Stina's Home, Baby, and Birthday

Taylor (with minimal help from Stina) put linoleum tile on the front porch! it looks GREAT! It did mean that we spent 1/2 the day pulling up the old carpet that someone had GLUED to the porch before we lived there!!

Since Taylor wanted to ensure he'd win "Best Husband of the Year Award" (which he's gotten for the past four years...) he painted the bathroom in the condo pink for Stina! At first he was skeptical when she talked about "pink" thinking hot pink...but when he saw the color he agreed...HOORAY for pink bathrooms!

This was also justified once we found out it was a boy on the way...if it was a girl her room would have been pink...but since it's a boy and Christina is about to be outnumbered...

For her birthday Taylor surprised Stina with a nice bench for the kitchen, it's even has storage drawers in it! She got home from work to find the appartment full of ballons and a new bench!! taylor taped the entrance with the new video camera we got (also for birthday month!).
